Khan Jahan's Residence :

A low mound locally known as KhanJahan's Vasatbari (Khan Jahan's Residence) is about 200m north of Shait Gumbad Mosque in Bagerhat. It covers an area of 232m N-S and 261 E-W.

A small scale excavation in 2008 revealed the remains of some nondescript walls and floors. Excavation in the last season (2008-2009) has reveled the remains of a residence measuring 10.6 x 10.16 m. A 3.96m wide metalled (brick-Paved) road running E-W has been exposed to the north of the building. It is exposed up to 7.5m. It appeared that this establishment was built and rebuilt in five phases. The excavation yielded a good number of earthen wares, net sinkers, toys and huge potsherds.

Paharpur

The Excavation was conducted around the central shrine of the monastery to remove the soil for smooth drawing of rainwater. Digging was carried out in an area of 840 square mcter in the south-west corner of the shrine. In addition dip digging carried out close to the N-E of the temple revealed 14 cultural layers.

Vasu Bihar

In 2008-09 excavation was continued  in the area of   second temple. The ruins of the temple was partly exposed in 2007-2008. This year’s digging revealed some more portion of the temple. This temple was constructed and reconstructed in several phases.

 

Vasu Bihara

Salban Vihara, Comilla

Excavations at Salban Vihara revealed the structural remains of two small temples and four stupas outside the monastery at its N-E corner. Besides, ruins of two temples were exposed to the south-west of the central temple within the monastery complex. The excavation also yielded 45 movable objects including Dhyani Buddha of Bronze, Dhyani Buddha of stone,  terracotta plaques, ornamental bricks etc.
